Lazy Way to Lose Weight: Cinnamon, Honey, and Water

This is an extremely lazy way to lose weight. It burns hundreds of calories even if you are just sitting down on your computer and doing nothing. It also increases gently boosts your metabolism which aids in weight loss.

Ingredients:
2 tsp Honey
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 cup Water

Directions:
1) Use 1 part of cinnamon to 2 parts of raw honey. 1 tsp cinnamon to 2 tsp honey is recommended.
2) Boil 1 cup of water.
3) Pour the boiling water on cinnamon. Cover it and let it steep until it is warm enough to drink.
4) Add honey when the water is cool/warm. Never add honey when it is hot as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey.
5) Drink half before going to bed. The other half should be covered and refrigerated, drink it the following morning. Do not re-heat.

Do not add any flavors in this mixture as this recipe only works if you drink it on empty stomach.

    I’m currently drinking I guess u would call it a detox water…
    2 strawberries sliced
    Some mint leaves
    5 sliced cucumbers

    I usually drink this twice a day…since drinking it I have to remind myself to eat because it suppress your appetite

    I tried making this but the cinnamon didn’t dissolve and I ended up dumping it because it was like drinking sweet water with cinnamon powder floating around. Is this how the drink is supposed to be? Is there some way I can make it taste better?

      Make sure the cinnamon is in the cup before pouring the hot water on it. The water also has to be extremely hot for the cinnamon to dissolve.

    Another good one is one bushel of parsley ,one lemon (squeeze well to get all the juice out and 8oz of water. It is actually refreshing too. I would make a fresh glass every morning and by the evening of the very first dose my stomach felt great! This one also must be taken on an empty stomach. I’d take my morning dose and then go do a 30 min cardio work out then come hm and eat breakfast. I like trying new things so Im def going to check out this cinnamon and honey one. 🙂

      It’s best to drink this 2-3 hours after your last meal before going to bed and first thing in the morning 30 to 60 minutes before breakfast to allow the ingredients to be absorbed by the digestive system.

    I saw you put the health risk for the cinnamon. You need to choose wisely on your honey. Do the research!       Try stirring the cinnamon when you add it to the boiling water. You will need to use either a metal strainer or tea strainer to strain out the cinnamon.

      Raw Honey is better because the enzymes have not been cooked out of it when it goes through the pasteurization process. People have used a metal strainer or tea strainer to strain out the cinnamon.

      Adverse reactions to cinnamon have not been reported in doses up to 6 grams daily, according to Drugs.com. However, some side effects are possible. Cinnamon oil can cause a burning sensation when it’s applied directly to skin. Candy and gum that contain a lot of cinnamon can irritate tissues inside your mouth. If you’re sensitive to coumarin and consume too much cassia cinnamon, it can cause liver disease or make your condition worse if you already have liver problems.

      You should prob go back and read the article you posted a link to. There are two different types of cinnamon. The cinnamon recommended here is NOT the cinnamon mentioned in the article to cause adverse affects when taken in large quantities.

          Honey has a healthier glycemic index (GI) than sugar, therefore it doesn’t cause a sugar rush, but it is gradually and progressively absorbed into our body.

          Cinnamon:

          It stabilizes blood sugar levels and increases the metabolism of glucose. Since high blood sugar levels can lead to increased storage of fat, cinnamon helps prevent this.

    Hi! I’ve been doing this for 5 days and I think it is effective because it lessened my appetite and cravings. But I do add 4-5 pcs calamansi bec lemon is kinda expensive.     Hi there,
    I just wanted to share my experience using this recipe for the past 10 days, in short I found it worked really well but let me go into more detail.

    I used organic raw honey and some fine ground cinnamon and I must also point out I am on a calorie control diet of 1700cal per day and walking 3 miles a day (to and from work) along with 1 hour of swimming a week.
    Before I started taking this drink I lost a pound a week easily in the past 10 days I have lost 3 1/2 pounds.Of course, this could just be a coincidence but I don’t believe it is, as I feel I know my body well enough to know that this drink helped.
    Even if the extra 2 pounds loss was just a coincidence the drink was very beneficial in other ways. I noticed I felt much “brighter” in the morning and a cough/cold that I had been struggling with for the past 3 weeks has all but gone now.

    My advice to anyone reading this is to try the drink for at least 2 weeks before dismissing it. Even if you don’t lose extra weight, raw honey and cinnamon is really good for you in general.

      Shelley – I’m not familiar with adipex other than knowing it’s a drug. You should contact the doctor who prescribed the medication to you to determine if there are in contraindications for drinking this mixture while taking adipex.       No. I haven’t personally used the product. I used another product which helped me lose 60 pounds. You can go to http://www.getfitwithmarcus.com to learn more about it. However, I have members in my weight loss support group who used this and lost weight. You still need to make the appropriate adjustments to your diet and daily calorie intake, if you want to lose weight and maintain it.

      Yes, honey won’t hurt your baby when you ingest it, and being she’s over 1 honey is ok for her to have. I breastfed my children for a long time too and ate honey. They get mostly just the sugar from the honey, all the other stuff is so minimal that your body takes it before it can reach the milk.

          There are around 14 total carbs in the drink, which would equate to 7 carbs each time you drink it. Honey has 5.6 carbs per teaspoon. Cinnamon has 2.1 carbs per teaspoon.

        Hey Bitia,

        I would recommend just making enough each time for just one serving. So microwave a coffee cup full of water until it’s hot, then dissolve the cinnamon. Once it’s cooled down to a warm stage, add the honey. Also after you’re done with work, do a salt water cleanse. It’s about 32oz of water and 2 teaspoons of sea salt. But be near a toilet, because you’ll be pooping soup! (Sorry if that’s gross).

        3) Pour the boiling water on cinnamon. Cover it and let it steep until it is warm enough to drink.
        4) Add honey when the water is cool/warm. Never add honey when it is hot as the heat will destroy the enzymes and other nutrients in the raw honey.
        5) Drink half before going to bed. The other half should be covered and refrigerated, drink it the following morning. Do not re-heat.

        Do not add any flavors in this mixture as this recipe only works if you drink it on empty stomach.
